Gourd Society President |
I go a lot of places and talk with a lot
of people with what I do. Sometimes I
hear back from some of them. Here's a
response I got about the story I did on
the Indiana Gourd Society Spring
Festival in Greenfield, Indiana a few
days ago.
George, what a great job you did with
the slide show and the
interviews/coverage of the Indiana Gourd
Society’s spring festival and meeting.
We are glad you enjoyed yourself—and
this was only a drop in the bucket. I
have never yet been to a gourd event
that did not absolutely astound me with
the variety and creativity.
We’ll look forward to seeing you April
1-3, 2011, for the state show. In 2010
we even had a bagpipe made from
gourds—and it was played every day of
the show. Maybe we could craft a video
camera from gourds?
Seriously, thanks so very much.

01/07/2009 - Hello from
Rebecca Sandlin |
Hi HCT Friends!
I thought this
social networking site had been
taken down by the publisher of The
Times, since whenever I tried to access
www.hamiltoncountytoday.com
it says the site has been removed.
However, this morning one of my friends
Googled me and found the direct link to
my HCT page and it works!
I had lobbied to keep HCT up and running
because people could put their events on
the calendar and still make
Hamilton County connections. But
they took it down anyway. But if you
Google my name ("Rebecca
Sandlin") then my HCT page is close to
the top and you can click on it then go
to the sign in page and get access to
your account.
Next, I would recommend sending a
message to all your friends (such as
this one) letting them know what's going
on with HCT and direct your friends
there as to how they can keep in touch
with you. Do it quickly before the rest
of the site is removed from the server!
Me, I have a couple of
social networking sites to direct
you to, to keep in touch and access any
blogs I may feel the urge to write. One
is my
MySpace page:
http://www.myspace.com/rebeccasandlin.
Please add me as a friend there and also
check out my Silver Lily site there:
http://www.myspace.com/silverlilydesign.
That is the "official" site where you
can see my jewelry and art. Currently I
have pieces for sale in galleries in
Carmel and Zionsville.
My"professional" site is
http://www.linkedin.com/in/rebeccasandlin.
This is a rapidly-growing
professional/business networking site.
If you are on
LinkedIn please add me to your
friends group. With the employment
situation nowadays, one can't have
enough networking links. There is also a
place on the LinkedIn site to make
recommendations for your contacts.
II hope this letter reaches you OK and
finds you well. Here's wishing you a
super 2009!
Regards,
Rebecca

Pendleton-Gazette |
Hello, Mr. George
Price :)
I saw the web address for the
Pendleton-Gazette written on the side of
a cool passing truck the other day and
was compelled to check it out. It looks
excellent! I am excited that Pendleton
has decided to join the digital
community! The website looks great!
Congratulations! ;)
I am writing, as a member of the
Pendleton community, to ask if you are
interested in expanding your staff. I
have experience with web design and
journalism, as well as editorial skills.
Several years ago, I worked as a
writer/reporter for the Pendleton Times.
I am presently attending Ball State
University as a graduate student
(Tuesdays and Thursdays only). I would
be highly interested in assisting you
with maintaining and expanding the site
to gain experience and also to engage
myself with the community. If this is a
possibility, please feel free to call me
in my home or write back so that we may
extend the conversation. I look forward
to hearing from you!

Each year my wife
and I travel I-69 to Columbus , IN for
Christmas with our families. Last night,
Dec 23, we sat in a traffic jam at exit
22 for five hours from ~7:00pm until
almost 12:00 midnight. In this time we
rolled only one mile before traffic
finally started to move freely. The
roads being covered with ice is an
obvious answer but I am looking for a
more specific reason for the stoppage on
the southbound side. Could you tell me
if there was some sort of accident or
had the State Police simply stopped
traffic for safety?

all for a fantastic job of promoting
that event. The videos are great, and we
have already got them on myspace and our
bands website. I was wondering if
someone from your office might contact
me so we could look into distribution of
those videos to other media outlets. We
are aggressively promoting that song
right now nationwide in hopes of making
some noise between now and the
elections. We were also wanting to see
about getting copies of the photos so
that we can get them on our website and
myspace. There are some great shots of
family and friends of the band in there
as well as the bass players daughter
dancing and walking around. My number is

you enough, and again, a wonderful job.
The video of Mr. Bush is great.

Seizure

Response to over
hydrated children
Article:
Too
Much
Water
Raises
Seizure
Risk In
Babies
I have
seen it in teens. there was a boy as a
client that we had to watch all the time
because of it and I had clients at
Hillcroft that we had to watch. it is
not something that you would think about
normally. What happens is that it
totally throws your electrolytes out of
wack. a person can die from it. it is
not uncommon in the elderly either.
We caution people about it at the office
all the time. it is correct that a
person's first instinct is to give water
to babies when it is hot out.
What people don't realize is that if you
are feeding a baby as it should be fed,
keeping it out of the major heat, it
won't be an issue, anyway.
No little child should be given large
amounts of water.

03/11/2008 Re: Real Liberals from James Ramsy,
Cold War Christian Democrat , Alexandria , In
765-724-9557 henhouse@ndwave.com |
It is not uncommon
for someone to write letters to editors claiming
they are pro-republican, because republicans,
including Bush, represent Christians..
Today is reality and the people are bing
deceived because "SEVEN OF THE SUPREME COURT
JUDGES ARE (ACLU controlled?)REPUBLICANS, AND
ONLY TWO ARE DEMOCRATS. How can the People call
the minority of two LIBERALS and authors of
indecency?
A Christian democrat interpretation seems
warranted: If the Supreme Court produces a
legalized version of the Jerry Springer Show,
that’s Republican. If you vote for abortion,
sodomy, same sex marriage, against prayer
anywhere, against the Boy Scouts because they
pray to God and don’t support homosexuals in
their org, that’s of Republican Supreme Court
Rule. And when the Supreme Court rutled "We
don’t make Moral Judgements" they opened the
door to justifying their immoral Republican
judgements on our streets to fill our prisons. |

This year, the
imbalance of imports vs. exports with China (aka Trade
Deficit) topped over $200 billion. That means the USA
imported $200 billion more goods into its country than
China imported into their country. What does this mean?
It boils down to jobs. The people in our area have seen
Anderson's Magnaquench close and relocate out of our
area after a Chinese buyout and pullout. The last North
American Jean company closed and relocated to China
recently. China recently bought out a major portion of
IBM, Big Blue and renamed it Lenovo. When the Republican
led congress would not renew the forestry and mining
resource land protections out west, it allowed foreign
countries to come in and buy up those resources. The
list literally goes on and on. Currently only 1 in 20
shipping containers arriving in from China are being
inspected. And while I wait for the train here in
Pendleton, I see "CHINA SHIPPING" written on the side of
very plain looking containers.
Our Indiana Democratic Senator Evan Bayh attempted to
shed light on the alarming imbalance numbers last year
before the elections by attempting to impose a 19
percent tax on all Chinese imports in order to level the
playing field. The republican led congress gunned down
that legislation. The backbone of the argument is
exposing the fact that China's banking system
manipulates their Chinese currency in such a way as to
make its currency weaker than the US Dollar. They have
been doing this for years and resist change even with US
complaints about this shady practice. By weakening their
own Chinese currency, they empower the US Buck to buy up
all of their cheap goods. Go to Walmart and look on the
shelves. In turn, a poor Chinese citizen cannot afford
to buy even the cheapest of US Made Goods. This creates
an imbalance that favors the Chinese and undermines the
United States playing on an equal level on the trade
table.
This is not fair trade.
