More Than 8,400 Lilly Employees to Participate in Massive
One-Day City Makeover May 15
Beautification projects to include record-breaking
paint-by-number mural
INDIANAPOLIS - On Thursday, May 15, more than 8,400
central Indiana Eli Lilly and Company employees -- possibly the
largest number of employees to ever participate in a corporate
volunteer initiative -- will participate in the company's
first-ever Global Day of Service, a day-long event in which
Lilly employees will unite with one common cause: to improve the
communities in which we live and work.

What: Employees will paint more than a half-mile of outdoor
murals, including a 1,230-foot long wall that may create a new
Guinness Book of World Record for the largest paint-by-number
mural -- plant 2,000 trees and 6,000 other plantings, enhance 16
medians and remove 24 acres invasive plants from public areas.
Lilly employees also will build Habitat for Humanity house
frames, participate in a one-mile walk to raise funds for
Lilly's Multidrug- Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) Partnership,
and work with 19 local schools (mostly IPS), Boy Scouts of
Greater Indianapolis and United Way of Central Indiana on other
projects benefiting our central Indiana community. A complete
media kit is available at www.lillymedia.com/lillyglobaldayofservice.
