Mount Comfort,
Indiana – One of the people whom I wanted to
meet and speak with at the Indianapolis Air
Show this year was Laura Stants of Kokomo,
Indiana. I had discovered that she flew an
airplane that I kind of grew up with as a
kid in Richmond, Indiana. My dad flew these
for many years as a private pilot from the
airport in near Richmond, Indiana that
belonged to Sherm Fleming. Mr. Fleming
bought 6 AT-6’s after WWII. My dad and Sherm
flew these plans all over the Midwest for
several years before the U.S. Military
bought them back at the start of the Korean
War. |
