With so many major things
going on in Pendleton all year long it's pretty
easy to find something fun to film. Probably the
most demanding event is Christmas in Pendleton.
There is just so much going on all over town all
day long.
While most of Pendleton's annual events are well
know there's one that's in it's 5th year that
that at lot of people do not know about.
It's the
P-Town Regatta that takes place each Labor Day
Sunday at Falls Park and it is a lot of fun not
only to be part of but to watch.

Christmas In Pendleton
Pendleton, Indiana
― Pendleton, Indiana - There’s no place like it this time of year and
that place is the Town of Pendleton, Indiana when it comes to
celebrating Christmas.
The 2011 “Christmas
In Pendleton” event was bigger, brighter and even more fun than the ones
years before. Sponsored by the Pendleton, Indiana Business Association
and chaired by an amazing lady, Bonny Clark.
It was a big day.
The annual Snow Ball fight on State Street is always a big attraction which is followed by the “Christmas In
Pendleton” parade through town.
Of course Christmas would
not be complete without the crowning of the Snow Queen and the
infamous Snow Ball Fight on State Street. Here are links to those
videos.
Pendleton, Indiana was once again in a “Halloween
State of Mind”
Pendleton, Indiana
– Once again area residents and other organizations pulled out all the
stops this Halloween. If prizes were given out for the best decorated
house or Halloween theme one would have a hard time deciding on a
winner.

stagecoach traveling the streets of Anderson, Indiana. But that’s
exactly what took place when Wells Fargo Advisors brought the Wells

Theatre.
Pendleton Community Library's
Read ‘n’ Feed Project
In today’s economy
more and more families are finding it difficult to provide adequate
nutrition for themselves and their children. One local organization
that has lead the fight to see that area residents have a better
opportunity to have the food and nutrition they need for themselves
and their family on a daily basis is the Pendleton Community
Library.
As their first project, the Pendleton Community Library established
a community garden next to the library. For several years from this
garden they have supplied fresh produce grown in the garden to the
local food pantry in Ingalls, Indiana. New this year is their “Read
‘n’ Feed Project” that is sponsored by the South Madison Community
Foundation, The United Way of Madison County, The Friends of the
Library, and the Trustees of Fall Creek, Green and Adams Townships.
Markleville High School: A Legacy
This one drew a lot of
attention.
Things I
Remember: This is a clip from one of the videos the Pendleton,
Indiana Historical Museum is collecting of area residents about
some of the history in this part of Madison County. In this clip
1945 graduates from Markleville High School talk about some of
the rich history of their former school and about the basketball
legacy of the former Markleville High School.

Water Rescue – Pendleton,
Indiana
The question has been ask
several times why this guy just didn't get out of the boat and walk
to safety. Good question. The only things I can think of is that for
one he was over come with fear. The other is that the water was
still pretty cold and so was he. That too probably played a role in
his inability to react to the situation as most might have.
Pendleton, Indiana (February
27, 2011) – The Pendleton Fire Department and EMS were called out to
Falls Park for a water rescue of a very scared and very cold
individual late this afternoon. They had tried to navigate the Fall
Creek in a small boat and found themselves in serious trouble when
their boat became stuck in the water directly behind the Pendleton
Historical Museum in Falls Park.
Indiana Storm
This
storm was being played out by TV Meteorologists as one that would
not be soon forgotten. For some it may have been as there were
numerous power outages across the state. But for us here in
Pendleton it was no more than a minor nascence the next morning.
Pendleton, Indiana (January 31, 2011 10:00 p.m.)
– Indiana is currently under a Sever Winter
Storm Warning. The latest reports indicate this
part of Indiana could get 2-4" overnight and has
a top end of 22" in some portions of the state.
The biggest concern at this time is to how much
ice is going to accompany the snow. With wide
spread ice accumulations possible in many parts
of the state utility companies are preparing
power outages and downed lines.
And, the #1 Video from 2011 is.........Ha, ha, I'd
forgotten about this one.........I stayed up all night following the
storm and I waited, and waited, and waited until...........oh well,
you'll see when you watch the video.
