Mr. Dave Elmore In Concert

Music by The Falls with Mr. Dave Elmore

Pendleton, Indiana – This past Sunday, what has become an annual event, the Pendleton Lions Club presented, the first concert for 2009 at the Gazebo in Falls Park. The entertainer who was originally scheduled, Mr. Gordon Brooks, was suddenly taken ill just prior to Sunday’s concert. Mr. Dave Gilmore, from Fortville, Indiana, agreed to replace Mr. Brooks for the first concert of 2009.

This was the first time that I had heard Mr. Dave Elmore perform. His blend of Southern Gospel and classic rock was, in a word, wonderful. Mr. Elmore provided the kind of first class entertainment area residents experienced from these concerts in Falls Park.

The Pendleton, Indiana Lions Club is one of the most visible civic organizations in Pendleton. Formed in the late 20’s and now numbering approximately 50 members, the Pendleton Lions Club’s involvement in this community is unmatched. Not only do they sponsor local projects and fundraisers like the Pendleton’s June Jamboree, which starts June 2nd, they have also take the lead in many other community projects ranging from Playground equipment in Falls Park to scholarships for area students.  The Pendleton lions are also very active in other projects which are part of the Lions Club organization’s efforts. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness." They accepted. Today, sight programs remain one their defining causes.
