Settlers moved to the area now known as Pendleton in 1818. Since that time Pendleton has become one the most well-known smaller communities in the Midwest. Pendleton's unique and vibrant history makes this one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can have.

A taste of life in Pendleton is available at some of the many events like the State Road 38 Sale, the Homecoming Parade, June Jamboree, and the Fall Festival (Download Flyer) , both of which are held in Falls Park. And at Christmas time there is the 'Christmas in Pendleton' that has become a 'Mega Event' all its own.

There are many other events held in Pendleton which are gaining a major following such as the Back to School Fair , Quilts in the park, Pendleton's Fall Festival, Outfitter's Block Party, the Pendleton, Indiana Opening Day Ceremony and Scarecrow's on Display.
