China finds problems with kids' snacks
We need to shut down food imports from China til they get their
act together... if the United States won't do it at the federal
level, then we need to consider doing it at a local and STATE
level. The time has come to ban all Chinese goods. They have
manipulated banking markets, poisoned everything from toys, pet
food, toothpaste, wheat gluten, seafood, now making fake blood,
and kids snacks!
Shut them down! The resellers of their products(like Walmart)
won't do it on their own. The Chinese government and factory
bosses are out of control and above the law. American companies
like Walmart are profiting from reselling Chinese products so
they have a motive cover up these problems or at the least stay
status quo and avoid doing anything about it which is just as
deadly and irresponsible.

Dear Sirs,
I was in your town of Pendleton, Indiana this past week-end,
6-30 & 7-1 for a softball tournament. The tourney was great and
the facility was very nice. While I was there I had noticed
there was this little girl sitting in this stroller from 8:00 am
to well after 2:30 pm, with no shade on her nothing to eat or
drink, never got out of the stroller, never said a word the
whole time, never went to the bathroom, and I was very upset
with it. I went up to the lady who was supposed to be watching
her and asked if she could have some water, the lady said yes.
So I handed the bottled water to the girl and told her it was
for her, the lady says to me I don't think she knows how to
drink from that so I lifted it up to her mouth and gave her a
drink. The lady then poured out some coke out of a cup and gave
it to her with a straw. As I am watching this girl the whole
time she is just sitting there doing nothing and the lady grabs
her by the shoulder and shook her and the little girl started
crying. I was then out raged, I went up to one of the people in
charge out there and told him what was going on and he said he
would check it out. I asked if he knew her or not and he said
yes. I later found out that CPS has been called on her twice
from others seeing the same thing. They were told the girl
doesn't look malnourished or anything so there was nothing they
could do. I am contacting my prosecutors office and CPS here to
see if something can be done, evidently either the parents of
this child is just like this lady or these parents don't know
whats going on and someone needs to step in and see exactly what
is going on with this baby. My family and I came home sat. night
we all prayed for this little girl and I think you all need to
say some prayers also. Would you please put this in your paper
or gazette or whatever to get something done about this. I have
cried my eyes out for 3 days now over this and I can't get it
off my mind, until I know someone is going to step in and do
some type of an investigation or something. Please, I am begging
you print this take it to the Police station or something, don't
let this sit there and be ignored. By the way isn't leaving a
baby out in the sun no food, no drink, no attention for 7 hours
child abuse?

Letter From Michelle Hurst Here Here BJ! I agree- I cannot
believe in our community that we have heartless people causing
pain to one in such need close to the holidays or not! I just
read another article about the new “ Simple Village ” that is
being built between Pendleton & Anderson by Sarah Brown and her
husband. What people don’t seem to understand is that you can
call a development “Simple Village” or Huntsinger “FARMS” but
the bottom line is with growth comes city attitudes and this is
what you witnessed behind Marsh. I feel pretty sure that this
would not have happened at “Macy’s” or even when it changed to
“Lo Bills” because it was close to the town & its
people/attitudes. Someone would have stepped in and helped him
carry his food home instead of taking it from him! I’ve lived in
Pendleton for over 10 years now and I moved to get away from the
city. In the last few years, I see the city creeping closer-
moving in and moving over our small town in several ways. The
main downtown of Pendleton is slowly dying- First it was Macy’s,
then the Seed Shop now True Value- always going to bigger-
supposedly better venues. It makes me sad when I look out my
front porch and see- not the tree line I used to see but instead
the three spotlights that now shine brightly towards my home
from the new True Value monstrosity of a building and the lights
from the new “just add water” homes of Huntsinger “FARMS” – I
hope I never end up on a “farm” like that!!!

Letter From B. J. Campbell I live in Pendleton and was upset
today at we saw behind the new Marsh store here:... An old man
(who age was around 75) had a bag of donuts and food. As We
watched two store employees took them away. I know he should
have not dug in their trash can for food, but if your hungry
what do you do. With Thanksgiving and Christmas nearing I feel
sadness for Mankind. I know they throw a lot of good food out
the door to take off their tax's. Why can"t they send food to
the local food banks like everyone else. We feed everyone over
seas and many of the needy in Indiana, but a few slip into the
cracks. Why did they run out and take the food from this man
that he surely needed to survive another day.... Happy
Thankgiving Marsh supermarkets new owners....signed: B J

7 April, 2006 Letter From Mary I have lived in Pendleton for approximately 4 years. I am finally
beginning to take a real interest in my community. I was amazed of
the condition of the home and yard of our Town Manager, Doug McGee,
last summer; it is the worst kept home on the street if not in the
entire neighborhood. Since that time, I have heard many
disappointing comments about him as well from many different types
of people. |
It is not uncommon to see multiple teenagers during the nicer
weather washing their personal vehicles at the fire station at least
once a week. I question why this is acceptable with taxpayer money.
Is it an open car wash? Could I perhaps take my car for detailing?
Is the Town Manager elected or appointed? Who is the appointee?
Thank you for your response.

Dad I love your picture of Kamie.
I'm so happy she is here. This is
the best thing that has ever
happened to my brother Gabe. Now he
will have a little girl a wife, and
a son to keep him smiling in Iraq. I
know it will hurt him so much to
leave, but he will be that much
better of a person. I love my
brother so much, and he is the
person that I wish I could be. He
has done so much for the U.S.A, and
for his family. May God watch over
him when he returns back to Iraq.
Love, Christian |
