offers numerous support groups
Community Hospital Anderson
offers a wide variety of support
groups to the Madison County
community.
A support group for
breastfeeding mothers meets
every Monday from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to
noon at the Community Anderson
Education Center.
The Alzheimer’s support group,
designed for care givers and
loved ones of those affected by
Alzheimer’s disease, meets on
the second Thursday of every
month from 9 to 11 a.m., 2 to 4
p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the
Community Anderson Education
Center.
The fibromyalgia support group
meets on the second Wednesday of
every month at 6 p.m. at the
Community Anderson Education
Center This group provides
support for those dealing with
the challenge of coping with
fibromyalgia and its effects on
their lives. The next meeting
for this group will be
Wednesday, May 13, where a
physical therapist from ProCare
will discuss the benefits of
exercise.
The Stroke/Parkinson’s disease
support group meets on the first
Wednesday of every month from 2
to 3 p.m. at the Community
Anderson Education Center. This
group is for individuals to
learn more about the disease and
to share the challenges of
coping with it.
On the first Monday of each
month the Lou Gehrig’s (ALS)
support group meets in
Alexandria at the Calvary
Baptist Chapel, 202 W. Tyler St.
at 6:30 p.m.
The Diabetes support group meets
on the first Monday of each
month at the Diabetes Care
Center, 1601 Medical Arts Blvd
at 5:30 p.m. This group is
intended for diabetics and their
families to gain resources and
support about the condition.
