Pendleton Community Garden Offering Free Plots for 2010 Season.

Pendleton, IN – The Pendleton Community Garden, a partnership of The Pendleton Community Public Library and Falls Park, is offering free plots for gardeners during their 2010 season.

The Pendleton Community Garden is located on Water Street, south of Brown’s Pool.  The Garden has a gathering area, a pumpkin patch, twenty-one public beds, and twenty-one individual-family plots. Each family plot is approximately 5’ X 12’.  Family plots are free, but plot holders agree to take on regular garden maintenance for their adjacent public plots. Each week, Garden Harvesters will pick produce from the public plots to be delivered to local food pantries.  In 2009, The Garden gave away nearly 2,000 lbs. of produce.

For more information on how you can be involved in The Pendleton Community Garden call the library at 778-7527 and ask for Tyler.
