Update from Rhonda Estes, With The Madison County Humane Society, Regarding The Findings In Ingalls, Indiana.

Update 02/11/2010: I spoke with the investigating officer at the sheriff's office. He said no laws other than 'littering' have been broken. The animals were not tortured as originally thought. They were killed then skinned for their pelts. He also said IF these animals had been domestic dogs no laws had been broken either unless they had been beaten or tortured. He said you can kill dogs but you can not beat or torture them. Can you believe it? Morally, it is just down right wrong and the officer agreed but sadly our state laws dictate and until those are changed..........

The Humane Society has withdrawn the reward money and will be returning donated reward money to those that were also outraged and wanted to help.

Update From The M.C.H.S. On Brutal Mutilation Deaths Of Dogs

Anderson, Indiana 02/05/2010 - A $1,000.00 reward is being offered by the Madison County Humane Society for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the senseless and brutal mutilation deaths of several dogs left in a creek near Ingalls, Indiana.

On Feb. 4, 2010, a passerby discovered the bodies of at least 10 dogs and the numbers are rising. These dogs were tortured, dismembered and suffered a brutally horrifying death. As the investigation is on-going more details will posted as they become available. The Madison County Humane Society is partnering with Anderson Animal Care and Control, the HSUS and hopefully others to try to increase the reward amount to bring whoever did this to justice.
