 Lasagna

This is just a wonderful recipe for all of you Italian Lovers. I first tried this recipe about 4 years ago for a gathering I was attending. I thought it was the best I ever tasted and I still do----this is an ultimate recipe. It is tasty but yet mellow. Just give it a try I am sure you will love it. This is one that you can’t go wrong with. I take this to Church pitch ins, to Boy Scout functions and I fix this when I have a group of people over for dinner. This recipe also freezes well; I have frozen it up to 3 months!

Lasagna

2# ground beef

1# mild sausage

1 onion

1 bag shredded Parmesan Cheese

1 bag mixed Italian Cheeses

1 bag Mozzarella Cheese

1 large container of Ricotta Cheese

1 box of Lasagna Pasta

1 large jar RAGU pasta sauce

1 cup fresh mushrooms

1 green pepper (chopped)

Salt & Pepper

Italian Seasoning

Brown your ground beef, mild sausage and onion in a large skillet. When your meet and onions are almost cooked add your green pepper and mushrooms, continue cooking another 10 minutes. Drain and cool. In the meantime cook your pasta till it is half done (don’t over cook!) When the pasta is half done rinse with cold water. and drain Start layering your lasagna in a large pasta baking dish. I always put a little pasta sauce on the bottom of my dish then I layer a row of pasta, meat, and put some of all the different cheeses and some more pasta sauce. Then I repeat this till all ingredients are used. On about the third layer I sprinkle some Italian Seasoning, some garlic and pepper and then I sprinkle a little on top of the last layer. Bake in 350* oven till warm through. ENJOY!
