Richmond, IN. - Green beans are probably one of the most consumed vegetable in the US. It is plentiful, economical and there are so many ways they can be prepared.

Green beans can be placed on your table as a stand alone dish or combined with other vegetables. No mater how they're served they will be enjoyed. And this vegetable is packed with health benefits.

And if you're a gardener wa-la'.  Green beans are one of those plants that's yield makes it well with planting. Easy to care for, the harvest comes on quickly, and it keeps on giving all summer long.

My children have asked me to give all of you this recipe. This is probably one of their favorite vegetables. It is probably as close to fresh tasting as you can get other than picking them out of the garden, however when you live in this part of the country you only get fresh vegetables in the summer months. I you all enjoy this as much as family does. ENJOY!

GREEN BEANS

1 can Del Monte Green Beans

2 teaspoons fresh onion chopped finely

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

Put all ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to boil till most of the liquid is cooked down. Pour a little vinegar over the beans to enhance the flavor. WOW!
