Fast, easy, and delicious!

Life is busy especially since most often both parents work outside the home. With our time evermore precious, opening a can of frosting is seen as much faster. But trust me, this one is worth the time and effort to make.

So many times we have everything in our pantry to make a home made frosting and don’t even think about it. If a can of prepared frosting isn’t in the pantry, we don’t make the cake for our family. On the other hand, we don’t have the extra money on the budget to go buy that can of icing.

This is really a fast and easy recipe to make, and most of the time you have everything in your pantry to make this great icing. And if you have a devils food cake in your pantry… you’re in for a real treat!

You, and your family, are about to enjoy one great cake! Fred’s cousin brought a cake with this icing for Fred’s Mothers 87th birthday last week at our home. Sharon said her Mother-in-law, Helen Kinder, gave this recipe to her 35 years ago and Sharon still uses it. She makes this cake for family members on their birthday at their request!

Carmel Icing

1stick Butter (not margarine)

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

¼ cup milk

Cook all of above ingredients till it bubbles and take off heat add 2 ½ cups powdered sugar. Beat with mixer and pour on cooled cake.

ENJOY!
