in partnership with the City of Carmel and Current in Carmel
Publications held, ROCK THE DISTRICT, a community event
featuring local and professional bands, Main Street “Sensational
Sidewalk Sale,” free gift giveaways, and other entertaining
activities. The two-day event took place Saturday, July 7th from
10 a.m. – 8 p.m., with performances on the Main Stage at the
National City Bank parking lot from 1-7 p.m. There was a preview
party including music and merchant open houses Friday, July 6th from 5 – 8 p.m.
National recording artist and District resident Jon McLaughlin
headlined the event with a special performance at 7 p.m. on
Saturday, July 7th. Anderson native Jon McLaughlin’s first album
debut, INDIANA , hit stores last month with overwhelming
response. A free download from Apple’s iTunes on-line music
store along with a rave review in People Magazine recently
catapulted his music career. His first release “Beautiful
Disaster” can be found on the motion picture soundtrack of
“Georgia Rule” starring Jane Fonda and Lindsay Lohan. For more
